Chabad of Hunterdon County will be holding its eighth Annual Auction fundraiser on Sunday, March 5 (at the The Stangl Factory, 50 Stangl Road in Flemington). The event will boast 60 prize packages valued at over $100,000, gourmet food and a comedy show! The auction night will take place at the Stangl Factory, a unique urban event space in the heart of Flemington night life. Headlining at the event will be famed comedian Dan Naturman, as seen on America's Got Talent, NBC's Last Comic Standing, Conan O'Brian, a four- time Letterman guest. This year the proceeds will benefit the Chabad of Hunterdon County Scholarship Fund to aid in providing non-denominational summer camp scholarships to families in need. "Many families in our community find it difficult to find quality summer experiences for their children; we are committed to helping 30 families this coming summer. I think it's important to combine charity and a good cause with a fun filled evening, top shelf entertainment, delicious food, and amazing prizes," says Rabbi Eli Kornfeld, Director of Chabad of Hunterdon County. "Not only do we have one of the hottest comedians in the US performing, we have some of the largest prizes that we've ever offered—including a private jet getaway for six anywhere in the Bahamas." Some of the other prizes include a NYC Getaway, Trip for two to Israel, a selection of the newest Apple products like iMac and Macbook Air, $1,000 Visa gift card, Roman Jewelers gift card, Bose Speakers and headphones, VIP Yankee tickets, US Open tickets, as well as Golf packages from Trump National, Fiddler's Elbow and Beaver Brook Country Club. MyChabadAuction.com or by calling: 908.238.9002. It's not too early to think about sailing! The Hunterdon Sailing Club is getting ready to kick off it's 53rd year on Spruce Run Reservoir. HSC is a not-for- profit group dedicated to promoting the sport of sailing with instruction for novices and a robust calendar of activities for experienced sailors. Club events are scheduled every week from the first week in May through mid-October. HSC sponsors 'Learn To Sail' classes for all age groups in June and July with continued coaching to develop sailing competence and safety on the water. The sailing club is home to several international one-design fleets including Sunfish, Force-5, Jet- 14, the Flying Scot, and sponsors local, regional and national regattas on Spruce Run Reservoir throughout the season. In addition to racing, the HSC has activities for recreational sailors, like picnics, scavenger hunts on the water, and a variety if other events. "The fact is, we're passionate about sailing and we enjoy sharing those skills with others who are interested in the sport." says Mark Kaplan, Commodore of HSC. "We are all about fun and safety on the water, so come out and join us for one of our family fun days!" The Hunterdon Sailing Club will hold a membership meeting on Sunday, April 2 at Riley & Jake's Restaurant, 1831 Route 31, Clinton. HSC meetings are open to anyone in the community who is interested in sailing. The meetings will begin with socializing at 12:30 pm for lunch and with an official start time at 1:30 pm.
