Van Doren, President of the Tewksbury Historical Society, is the guest speaker on Tuesday, March 7 at the Woman's Club of Tewksbury Township meeting held at Oldwick Manor on 163 Oldwick Road in Oldwick. Refreshments will be served at 9:00 am preceding the meeting and program. Van Doren's lecture and slide presentation, Tewksbury Place Names, will explore areas of town once known under such names as Donkeytown, Apgar's Corner, Pigturd Alley, Cokesburg and others. Which ones continue to exist? Which ones are known by another name? Which ones have been lost forever? Answers to these questions and many other interesting Tewksbury facts will be explored. WCTT Education Scholarship Applications Available WCTT announces that applications are being accepted for its Scholarship Awards, which can be found on its website: http://tewksburywomansclub. org! The Education Scholarship, emphasizing a student's exemplary community service, is open to any student whose primary residence is in Tewksbury, attending a public or private school. It is specified for matriculation expenses at an accredited 4-year college or university for the purpose of attaining an Associates or Bachelors Degree. The Dotty Gaal Memorial Scholarship, open to any student residing in a Voorhees High School/Glen Gardner sending district, will be awarded based on a student's excellence in science. It's specified for matriculation expenses at an accredited two or four-year college or university for the purpose of attaining an Associate's or Bachelor's Degree in pursuit of a career in the field of science. A Taste of Tewksbury, the biennial fund raiser held by the Woman's Club of Tewksbury Township, takes place on Saturday, March 25, from 6:00 - 9:00 pm, at Merck and Company, 600 Corporate Drive, Lebanon, 08833. The evening features gourmet food tastings and premium wine samplings. Among the 12 participating restaurants are the Ryland Inn, Gourmet Expressions, Brunello's and Bec's. Wines are selected by Tewksbury Fine Wines. A portion of this year's profit will be donated to Points for Pain, an organization spearheaded by Tyler Cashman, a Tewksbury resident and student at the Tewksbury Middle School. Other monies will augment the club's Charitable Budget for donation to local non-profit organizations.
