The Sunshine Foundation's sole purpose is to answer the dreams of chronically ill, seriously ill, physically challenged and abused children ages three to eighteen, whose families cannot fulfill their requests due to financial strain that the child's illness may cause. The Spring Run students created and sold chocolate rose lollipops for Valentine's Day. Major Steve Shallop, a New Jersey State Trooper and a volunteer with the Mercer County Chapter of Sunshine Foundation, accepted a check for $500 for the Sunshine Foundation's Dreamlift program from the staff and students at Spring Run School. Since Sunshine Foundation started its Dreamlift program, over 99 chartered planes have taken over 5,000 children to Walt Disney World from cities across the United States. Spring Run School is CEA's NJ-certified private secondary school serving students on the autism spectrum as well as those with multiple disabilities between the ages of 13 and 21. Spring Run offers a small student- to-teacher ratio, strong emphasis on socialization and extended off-campus classroom experiences in addition to a 43 day Extended School year from July 1 to August 31. Anderson House, a nonprofit halfway house for women recovering from alcoholism and drug addiction located in the Whitehouse Station section of Readington Township, is hosting its 17th Annual Golf Outing Fundraiser on June 1 at Stanton Ridge Country Club. The modified best ball tournament will feature a BBQ lunch, chair massages, hors d'oeuvres and cocktail reception, dinner and evening program featuring an Anderson House Graduate, enticing prizes, golfer gifts, goodie bags, contests and awards. Anderson House is actively seeking golfers and sponsors to raise funds to support the women it serves. The event is coordinated and planned by a community-based, all- volunteer golf committee – some of whom have been members since the outing's beginning! Each year this event attracts successful businesses, entrepreneurs and attendees from across the State and beyond. "This long-standing event has gained a great reputation and is so important to raising funds for the critical work Anderson House does," stated Bruce Keeler, Co-Chair of the golf committee and Whitehouse Station resident. "The community has been so supportive of our mission, and we are planning an entertaining event along with a great opportunity for local businesses to gain meaningful publicity. Sponsorships range from $150 to $3,500 so organizations large and small can participate." Special thanks to our early supporters, longtime Platinum Sponsor, NCS Technologies, and Golf Cart Sponsor, Nadine Maleski, LLC, Attorneys at Law! Since opening its doors 20 years ago, Anderson House has given close to 800 New Jersey women, mostly from Hunterdon and Somerset County, in early recovery the time, care and guidance they need to restore meaningful relationships with their families, become self-sufficient, contributing members of our communities and loving mothers to their children. Because of the comprehensive care Anderson House provides, women go on to lead full and fruitful lives free of addiction and build satisfying futures. n e w r o a d s F i n a n C i a l G r o u p At Newroads Financial Group, our team works with Executives, Entrepreneurs and those going through life's transitions who we've learned probably manage approximately 70-75% of their personal financial lives effectively.
