A L e t t e r f r o m Dr. Drucilla Clark, Superintendent of Schools Dear Parents and Community Members: Happy Spring! The district has completed the first part of the new State Department online, standardized testing – PARCC. It was a month long process, not for each student, but across the grades from 3 to 8. Our technology held up well and the students and staff were great! The next sessions start in May and the Clinton Township Schools are ready. We have submitted a preliminary budget to the County and State, with a Public Hearing scheduled for the next Board of Education meeting on April 27, 7:30 pm, at the Clinton Township Middle School Auditorium. Please check our website (www.ctsd.k12.nj.us) for information and our presentation on the preliminary budget. The final budget will be posted after the Public Hearing. We are awaiting the State Budget Approval before our April meeting. I hope you didn't miss the opportunity to see our Middle School student musical, Into the Woods! I was in the front row cheering and feeling so proud of our teachers and students. We had some pretty awesome parents working on set design and programs as well. I never cease to be amazed at the poise and talent displayed by these young actors each year. I am convinced they just get better and better with every show. Every year I write the 8th grade graduation speech based on the show they perform and work hard to find just the right words of wisdom contained in the musical that will send our students off to high school with confidence and wisdom. This show has already filled me with energy and bits of phrases that I know I can use to perfect advantage and advice for the future. I don't know what the show will be next year, but don't let it get by you! Once it stopped snowing, the year started to speed by and as we move toward closing another school year, I am reminded how very lucky we are to live in a place where education is valued and appreciated. As the flowers begin to bloom and Mother's Day approaches, I want to say thank you to all our families who do so much to volunteer and make our schools such wonderful places for our children. Thank you to a staff that cares and a Board of Education that works hard for little reward to make a difference. Clinton Township has its challenges, just like everyplace else, but I know as we work together for a better spring, flowers will bloom and the sun will shine! With appreciation, Dr. Drucilla Clark, Superintendent "No Wt lʦ fev; no Sg ski iʦ tn." – H Bd T h e F o u n d a t i o n i s a n o n - p r o f i t , g r a s s r o o t s organization whose mission is to provide unique educational enrichment opportunities for all students in the Clinton Township school district.
