Susie Ann's Stage for Youth (SASY Inc.), a newly formed local non- profit, is making its debut in the community with its first-ever youth theater production: Beetlejuice Jr. Performances are scheduled for August 8–11 at North Hunterdon High School, promising four family-friendly, hilarious nights of music, dance, and youth talent! SASY Inc., a registered 501(c)(3), was created in honor of Susie Konya Emery, a beloved Readington-area resident, award-winning tap dancer, and passionate advocate for accessible youth theater. Susie dreamed of creating a space where all young people—regardless of their schedules or commitments—could have the chance to perform. Fulfilling that vision, SASY is proud to offer flexible rehearsal schedules that accommodate students with other extracurricular obligations, such as sports. The cast of Beetlejuice Jr. includes student-athletes from North Hunterdon High School's Varsity and JV teams, as well as young performers who recently starred in musicals at North Hunterdon, Voorhees, and other Hunterdon County schools. Based on the hit film and Broadway musical, Beetlejuice Jr. follows Lydia Deetz, a quirky teen obsessed with the afterlife, who discovers her new home is haunted by a ghostly couple—and a mischievous demon named Beetlejuice. Beetlejuice was a Broadway sensation, known for its over-the-top humor, heartfelt moments, and viral fanbase. Now adapted for young performers, Beetlejuice Jr. brings all the chaos and charm of the original to a new generation of theatergoers.
