A crafty new concept opened their doors early this summer, and they are getting to know the area's most creative DIY-ers! It is given to a seventh-grade student at the Old Turnpike School, Tewksbury, in recognition of his curiosity, passion, strong interest in and dedication to studying New Jersey and local history. The Award was presented by Melissa Ehmann, daughter of Elsie Ehmann, at OTS's Annual Award Ceremony. In response to his award, Elias told the Historical Society that "I was so happy to receive this award. I enjoy learning history because I want to learn the truth about the world in which I live." Elias is the son of John and Jamie De Peppo, who expressed gratitude "for allowing them to share in this honor. We were thrilled to see Elias receive this very special recognition. The Tewksbury Historical Society's "End of Summer" tag sale will be held on Labor Day weekend, Saturday, August 30. It takes place at the Oldwick Carriage House, 5 James Street, Oldwick, 08858 from 8:00 am to 4:00 pm. The Society will be selling cleaned quality items, in working operation. Antiques, furniture, art work, chinaware, crystal, silver, housewares, garden items, costume jewelry and linens will be some of the available merchandise. Among the items that will not be sold are electronics older than three years, clothing, books and children's toys. Treasures abound for all ages!
