This major fundraiser takes place Saturday, October 4 through Saturday, October 11, at the Zion Lutheran Church, Christian Education Center, 18 Miller Avenue, Oldwick, 08858. THS has initiated a major research project investigating improvements of its archival materials maintenance. Proceeds from the Show will benefit this project. The Show includes juried works, small works and portfolio works submitted by artists from across the tri-state area. Two-dimensional works, including bas relief and photography (no giclees), will be on view. Categories include Natural Environment, Figurative, Abstract/Non-Objective, Animal Kingdom, Still Life/Florals and Built Environment. Awards will be announced at an Opening Reception, catered by Becky Geisel of Bex's Kitchen in Califon, on Friday evening, October 3, 6:00 pm to 8:00 pm. Advance tickets are required and can be purchased until Tuesday, September 23, 8:00 pm via PayPal, at: www.TewksburyHistory.net. (Click on Tewksbury Art Show-Preview page on the upper left). Tickets will not be sold at the door. Awards will be given for Best in Show, Best of Tewksbury, Marion Katnack Award–Tewksbury Landscape, plus First, Second, and Third place, and Honorable Mentions in each category. Juror of the Show will be Leigh A. Zona, Director of Communications and Development at the Center for Contemporary Art in Bedminster. The 2024 Tewksbury Art Show Awards were won by artists who covered a wide range of media and techniques. Best in Show was won by Dot Bunn for her work, Aging with Grace. Some of the other notable artists whose works were recognized are Jinnie May, William Metz, Andrea Gianchiglia, Jerry Cable, Zhicheng Zhao, Helen Farrant, Joan Capaldo, Doreen Tighe, Ellen Dunnder, Kat Block, Louise Matarazzo and Tim Conway. There were over one hundred artists participating in the Show. It's anticipated that these regularly exhibiting artists and many others will be in the 2025 Show. All items at the Show, including the Juried Works, Small Works and Portfolio items, will be available for purchase. They're submitted by the artists represented in the Show. This is an opportunity to own the work of an artist whose work is "up and coming" at a reasonable price, while supporting THS. The Society earns a small percentage of all items sold during the Show. The Show continues through Saturday, October 11. Public viewing hours are Saturday, October 4, 10:00 am to 5:00 pm, Sunday, October 5, 1:00 pm to 5:00 pm, Monday through Friday, October 6-10, 12:00 to 5:00 pm, and Saturday, October 11, 10:00 am to 3:00 pm.
