1 5 d e c e m b e r 2 0 2 2 Patrick McGaheran School October and November were busy months at PMG with many learning opportunities for students. We had PTA sponsored Fall Celebrations and costume parades, Pumpkin Carving Night, Fire Safety visits from Annandale Hose Company and Sparky the Dog. Students are engaged in EEKK reading (elbow to elbow and knee to knee) in the classrooms and also supporting morning announcements in both English and Spanish! Round Valley School Students had a blast during our fall celebrations. Costumes, third- grade parading for our fourth graders, festive food, and awesome games were part of this fun day. We thank our PTA for coordinating this event! Please enjoy the photos (below) of the celebration! CTMS Enrichment News: Our mock trial program, sponsored by the New Jersey Bar Foundation, is growing in popularity among CTMS students. This year we have formed five teams. This Law program is a competition where the students learn about courtroom law and write an original, balanced court case. The CTMS Poetry Club has many returning poets and even more new members. Congratulations to our published poets: Beverly Veliz and Sianna Stivala. These young writers submitted poems to national student poetry competitions and are now published poets! The CTMS News Crew is keeping very busy with our daily video news program. Over 80 students take turns filming each day, and a group of about 20 editors prepare the news after school to show the next day. Keep up the great work, NEWS CREW! The Student Ambassadors held a mini-food drive the last week of October to help restock the shelves at the local food pantry. We dropped off a plethora of soups, pasta, breakfast items, and other items. On November 2, Dr. Michael Fowlin, better known as Mykee, presented to all the North Hunterdon and Voorhees area 8th grade students, as well as the CTMS 6th and 7th grade students. As per his eponymous website, "his programs combine both his professional acting talents and his psychological t r a i n i n g . H i s mission is to create an atmosphere of inclusion, not just tolerance, towards a l l p e o p l e . " H i s work has included p e e r m e d i a t i o n , diversity training, g e n d e r e q u i t y w o r k s h o p s , a n d violence prevention seminars. He hopes that "all audience members leave his performance with t h a t w o n d e r f u l , awakening feeling of beauty: the beauty within one's self and the beauty within others; the celebration of our differences, and the acceptance of our shared experiences."
