We continue to live through a stressful time and it is important to
recognize that our mental health may be impacted in many ways.
Symptoms of depression and anxiety have been increasing during the past few
months in many people and it is helpful to familiarize yourself with them. You
may be experiencing trouble sleeping, over- or undereating, trouble
concentrating, feelings of sadness, hopelessness and/or irritability.
If these occur but are mild and don't interfere with your ability to do your usual
routine, you could add some exercise to your day or reach out for more social
contact and see your symptoms improve. However, this type of self-care may not
be enough and that's okay. If any of the above symptoms interfere with
your ability to function in the way you're used to or you can't see a
reason to get out of bed in the morning, that's a sign you should seek
professional help. You can always start by talking to your primary care doctor
for advice. Many times, therapy can be helpful and telemedicine is ideal for this.
You can call Hunterdon Behavioral Health at 1-866-HBH-2060 for
information or help is available 24 hours a day at the Crisis Hotline
at 908.788.6400. Know that this is a difficult time but you are not alone
and help is out there.

"Imagine there's no countries, it isn't hard to do. Nothing to kill or die for, and no religion too.
Imagine all the people living life in peace. You may say that I'm a dreamer, but I'm not the only one.
I hope someday you'll join us. And the world will be as one." ~ John Lennon, "Imagine"
