Saturday, April 21, 2:30 pm to 8:00 pm at Echo Hill Park
Ages: All, Cost: free! No need to pre-register.
Help us celebrate the one, the only, Planet Earth! This year, we are moving to an
afternoon/evening festival celebrating New Jersey native wildlife. At 3:00, enjoy
an "April pole" song and dance to thank the Earth for what it has provided. Learn
about wildlife movement and habitat connectivity at our film screening at 5:00. Local
producer Jared Flesher will show us two episodes of The Creature Show, focused on
the state of bobcats and salamanders in New Jersey, and he will then lead us in a
discussion on habitat connectivity. Take a hike around the park with our affiliate, the
Hunterdon Hiking Club, at 4:00 or 6:00. Many of the traditional Earth Day activities
will be back, including 4-H clubs and local environmental organizations. Enjoy a
variety of crafts, games, and recycled building challenges for all ages! We will also
be hosting a Pond Paddle on the Echo Hill Pond with our affiliate, the Hunterdon
County Canoe Club. Free tickets are required for a time slot and are available that
day on a first-come, first-served basis. The evening will conclude with a campfire
and S'mores at 7:00! For more information on Hunterdon County Division
of Parks & Recreation, please call us at: 908.782.1158 or visit: www.
