It was a fun culminating event in which teamwork and sportsmanship was shown by all! Clinton Township Middle School CTMS will have our first ever TREP$ Marketplace on Wednesday, April 11 from 6:00 -8:00 pm. TREP$ is a program where young entrepreneurs create and run their own businesses. Students design a product, create a budget and business plan and mass produce their product for sale at the event. Everyone is invited to come and check out the amazing products that the students will have for sale! Multi-Sensory Garden: The CTMS courtyard will soon be transformed into an inspirational multi-sensory garden space. A group of students, teachers and parents are busy planning the garden pathways, artwork, raised beds and even a mosaic mural. We are having an Easter plant sale to raise funds, and donations of materials are also being collected. Please contact dcormican@ctsdnj.org for more information! Programming: In Tech Apps, 7th and 8th graders finished up the semester in January by programming video games in Scratch. 7th graders designed and programmed their own game ideas, and the outcome was very impressive. Programming is a great skill for students to develop; not only is it marketable a n d u b i q u i t o u s i n m o s t h i g h t e c h c a r e e r s , i t i s a l s o a g r e a t way for students t o d e v e l o p a n d strengthen their problem solving s k i l l s . G e t t i n g e x p o s e d i n middle school to programming also puts our students at an advantage when it comes to selecting courses in high school and college. The students are so engaged with the creation of their own games, they don't even realize that they are learning. Ask your child to show you what he/she created! Please join us for performances on March 8 and 9 at 7:00 and March 10 at 4:00 pm! Tickets can be purchased at the door and online. CTMS Drama Club is Proud to Present: Above: Students in 4th grade at RVS created their own devices that transferred energy! Below: After analyzing different texts, 5th grade students created posters to teach others about non-fiction text structures. Due to the success of the World Cultures Club at RVS' Mexican Hot Chocolate Fundraiser, they were able to donate $125 to Direct Relief for the victims of the Hurricane in Puerto Rico and the earthquake in Mexico! RVS 6th grade's Volleyball Tournament! In Tech Apps at CTMS, 7th and 8th graders programmed video games in Scratch!
