Help Save Lives and Add So Much to Your Own! By Bucky Buchanan, CFARS Deputy Chief of EMS Want to make 2018 the year you began making a huge difference in our community and in your own life, too? Join Clinton First Aid & Rescue Squad. Clinton First Aid needs your help in our mission to provide rescue services and emergency care and transit to the people who live, work and travel in the Town of Clinton, Clinton Township, Lebanon Borough, Franklin Township and Union Township! We respond to approximately 3,400 calls a year in the 52 square miles we cover. Join us and we will provide the training you need to become a Emergency Medical Technician, Rescue Associate, or Water Rescue Associate at no cost. You will use the skills you learn to aid people in medical distress or in accidents on our roadways or waterways. You may even help save a life. Not 18 yet? Teens can begin hands-on training at 16 or 17 that will prepare them to become an EMT at age 18. You will learn CPR and first aid, land and water rescue techniques, and from the start will work side-by-side with our crews. You can even earn high school credit for your training! Want to make a difference without making emergency calls? It takes many hands and many skills to run the Squad! Non-emergency members help with administrative duties, building and fleet maintenance, fundraising, event planning and a host of other duties. Whatever your talent, we can use it! You will make a difference in many lives by joining, and joining will also make a big difference in your life. As a member of our squad, you can: • Explore a new career in the medical or emergency response fields. • Gain communication, leadership and other skills and experience that can help you advance in any profession. • Show employers or college admissions officers more about the person you are. • Add meaning and purpose to your life. • Forge new, life-long friendships with other Squad Members and their families and enjoy Squad events together. We are highly skilled professionals who take training and emergency response very seriously. But we also have a lot of fun at Clinton First Aid & Rescue Squad! If you're looking for a way to make difference in the lives of others - and in your own life, too – please join us! Visit www.joinclintonems.com or call or call 844-4-Clinton and leave a message to learn more about volunteering, schedule a squad visit, or ask questions. t h e F r I e n d s o F t h e h u n t e r d o n C o u n t y L I B r A r y The Friends of the Hunterdon County Library (FOHCL) will be having an open meeting on Saturday, February 17 at the North County Branch library on Halstead Street at 2:00 pm.
