Speakers from all three campuses are coming to talk with Rutgers University-Newark services for LGBTQ students and the topics will be: Housing Staff Training – All Housing staff are trained annually on LGBTQ sensitivity, so that they can provide the best service to Rutgers-Newark students! Second Topic: LGBTQ Minor – The Women and Genders Studies Program at RU/ Newark offers a minor in Lesbian, Gay, Bisexual and Transgender Studies. Classes that count towards this major are cross-listed in many different departments, giving students flexibility in designing a minor that compliments their academic interests. Rutgers University admissions officers from all three campuses will be here to talk and answer questions you may have. The GLBT of Hunterdon County of NJ will be holding their annual Tricky Tray on September 8 at the CEA/Spring Run School, 11 Minneakoning Road in Flemington, from 5;30 pm to 8:30 pm. Proceeds of the event go to a scholarship for an entering college freshman in the LGBT community and for educational/informational speakers. Admission is $10 and includes eight tickets to level two tier baskets. There will be sandwiches, wraps and desserts for purchase. Gift baskets to include handbags by Coach, Michael Kors, Vera Bradley, Kate Spade, other items will include a 40" TV, Keurig coffee maker, jewelry, gift certificates for haircuts, supermarkets, and restaurants, sports memorabilia and more! We are a non-profit support and social group for youth, teens, young adults and adults that meet at the Clinton Library on the first Thursday of each month unless otherwise noted on our website. T e w k s b u r y H i s T o r i c a l s o c i e T y s p o n s o r s F l e a M a r k e T o n s e p T e M b e r 2 The Tewksbury Historical Society holds its 23rd Flea Market Saturday, September 2, from 8:00 am to 3:00 pm in the Johnson Family/Cedar Lane Farm field on County Route 517, north of Oldwick. The entrance to the site is one half mile north of Homestead Road on Route 517. The rain date is Sunday, September 3. The Pottersville Volunteer Fire Department is the only other non-profit organization participating in the Flea Market, serving breakfast and lunch during the day. Currently 113 vendors sell a variety of wares including antiques, vintage items, fresh baked goods, etc. An entrance fee is not charged, however THS requests a suggested donation of $1 or more per car upon departure. Those wishing to "shop" early may do so beginning at 8:00 am, paying a $10 fee. The Tewksbury Historical Society Flea Market has grown to be the largest flea market in New Jersey on the Saturday of the Labor Day weekend and the largest flea market in Hunterdon County. Coffee and comradery will begin at 9:00 am, followed by the meeting conducted by Anne Diamente, Club President. Guests are welcome to attend the meeting and may call: 908.509.1855 for reservations. The Woman's Club of Tewksbury Township is a service club open to any woman 18 years of age or older, residing in Tewksbury Township or the surrounding area. 9:00 am meetings are held on the first Tuesday of each month, September through June, at the Oldwick Manor, unless otherwise noted. A guest speaker of interest to the members is invited to address the meeting.
