Clinton Boy Scout Troop 121 is inviting all boys from kindergarten through 8th grade to a campfire open house on Saturday, August 26 at 7:00 pm at the Valley Crest Preserve campsite! There will be "S'mores," games, skits and Scout craft available for all. In addition, the first 25 boys will receive a free flashlight! The campfire is designed for families to come and learn more about the Scout program and provide the opportunity to register as a member. Boys from kindergarten through fourth grade can join a local Cub Scout pack. Cub Scouting means "doing." Everything in Cub Scouting is designed to have the boys doing things, with fun activities used to achieve the aims of Scouting—citizenship training, character development and personal fitness. Boy Scouting is available to boys that are either 10½ or have completed the fifth grade. Activities include weekend and summer camping, canoeing and kayaking, field trips and community service. Benefits of Scouting include character development, team building and personal fitness. Valley Crest Preserve is just off State Route 31 in Clinton Township. From Route 31 North, make a right onto Valley Crest Road (just before the Clinton Township Police Department) and follow the signs.
