Hunterdon County Parks is hosting the 41st FREE, open air "Music under the Stars" concerts every Thursday, from June 29 - August 17, from 7:00 pm until 9:00 pm at Deer Path Park, 120 West Woodschurch Road, Flemington. Deer Path Park offers incredible vistas, especially at sunset, for spectators to enjoy and also plenty of room for the entire family to spread out a blanket, have a picnic dinner and enjoy the playground! Hunterdon Medical Center depends heavily on regular volunteer blood donors to maintain an adequate and safe blood supply. "Giving blood is the most generous act of kindness that one human being can do for another. When you give blood, you save lives. Blood is used for accident victims, newborn babies and their mothers who need a transfusion, people undergoing surgery, patients receiving treatment for cancer and other diseases," stated Cathy Conroy, Blood Donor Recruiter at Hunterdon Medical Center. To be eligible to donate blood a person must be at least 17 years of age, be in good health and weigh at least 110 pounds. W C t t a W a r d s s C h o l a r s h i p s a t p r e s i d e n t s l u n C h e o n Tuesday, June 13, the Woman's Club of Tewksbury Township held its Presidents Luncheon at Trump National Golf Club when all former Presidents were recognized. A check for $5000 raised at the Club's fundraiser, "A Taste of Tewksbury", was presented to the US Pain Foundation on behalf of "Points for Pain", the fundraiser initiated by Tewksbury student Tyler Cashman for the Foundation's Pediatric Pain Program. Present to accept the donation for the organizaiton were Paul Gilino, President, Nicole Hemmenway, Vice President and Tyler Cashman, Director of Pediatric Awareness and Fundraising. The WCTT Education Scholarship was awarded to Jennifer Page of Tewksbury, daughter of Grace and Jeffery Page and a student at Voorhees High School. She is a certified EMT with the Tewksbury First Aid and Rescue Squad, where she spent over 1100 voluntary hours and earned the 2017 Chief's Award. She will attend Rutgers University to pursue a 5 year Master's program in Biomedical Engineering. The Dotty Gaal Memorial Scholarship., marking its fifth year, was given to Erica Zack of Lebanon, daughter of Anna and Chris Zack. A student at Voorhees, she earned a varsity letter in Track and Cross Country and became "Captain" in both sports. A member of the Math Honor Society, she plays the clarinet in the school band and will attend North Carolina State University to work toward a degree in Biomedical Engineering with a possible career in BME Research and Design. The WCTT Advanced Education Scholarship was given to Inga Wismer of Lebanon is a chemist by training and has worked for several fortune 500 companies, including Merck & Co., Enzon Pharmaceuticals and Colgate- Palmolive Co. The mother of four small children, she will use her scholarship toward a Master's Degree in Counseling Psychology from the University of Cumberlands, taking its two year accredited on-line program with an on-campus component. The WCTT is a service club open to women 18 years of age or older, residing in Tewksbury Township or the surrounding area.
