Routine visits to a podiatrist are extremely important. You should be inspecting your feet every day. If you cannot reach them, then get a mirror and make sure your look at the bottoms of your feet and between your toes carefully. You should look for the following changes: • Red swelling and hot sensation (possible infection) • Drainage or blood • Foul odor • Ingrown toenails • Red streaks • Pale or blue skin • Numbness, tingling or burning sensation Any of these changes can be signs of severe problems associated with diabetes. Please see your podiatrist so he or she may evaluate them. Infections occur very quickly with diabetics, so never assume that these changes in your feet are something to be ignored. Infections can develop and lead to limb loss or even death. If you have diabetes, it is important to purchase the proper shoes. Poorly fitted or incorrect shoes often are responsible for infections and even amputations. Diabetic shoes are covered by Medicare, so if you are a diabetic, contact your local podiatrist for evaluations and to be fitted for Diabetic shoes. Anyone experiencing leg pain or discomfort should first seek medical advice from his/her physician. If you have any questions, please contact Howard J. Tzorfas, D.P.M. at 908.236.6999, or visit: www. H u n t e r d o n f o o t b a l l c l u b Hunterdon Football Club, also known as Hunterdon FC, is a community centered, not-for-profit soccer club that was formed in 2013 as a result of the merger of North Hunterdon and Hunterdon United Soccer Clubs. The two legacy clubs and, more recently, Hunterdon FC, have a combined 65 years of experience in providing soccer opportunities to the greater Hunterdon County area. Hunterdon FC currently offers competitive and elite travel soccer programs for children and young adults ages U6 thru U19. Our mission is to create a positive environment for all athletes to improve as individuals while learning and playing the game of soccer in a fun and challenging environment. We emphasize and value good sportsmanship and teamwork, fair play, and competitive spirit. We will be holding our Spring tryouts for competitive travel teams playing in the seasonal year starting Fall of 2017 through the Spring of 2018. These tryouts are specifically for boys and girls whose birth years are 2001 through 2009. Hunterdon FC is pleased to announce the formation of its Pre-Travel Academy for players born in 2010 and 2011! The training program will be age appropriate, aligned with current USSF directives for youth player development and is best suited for children who have aspiration to play competitive travel soccer in the upcoming years. Training will be held on Mondays and Wednesdays, starting Monday, April 3 and will run for eight weeks. Additional details ,including an outline of the Program Curriculum, can be seen on our website: www.HunterdonFC.org. E a s t E r F l o w E r s a l E w i t h t h E K i w a n i s C l u b !
