(If you're not sure, have a plumber come out to teach you). • Clean the clothes dryer exhaust duct, damper and space under the dryer (lint build up causes fires!). • Check the attic for adequate ventilation (check exterior wall to be sure ceiling insulation is not blocking outside air from soffit vents). • Clean the kitchen exhaust hood and air filter (keeping the hood clean of cooking grease helps keep a stovetop fire from spreading). • Check the water hoses on the clothes washer, refrigerator icemaker and dishwasher for cracks and bubbles (and replace any hoses that show signs of leaking) • Test all ground-fault-circuit-interrupter (GFCI) outlets (these should be tripped and reset once a month. If they do not trip or reset, have the outlet changed by a qualified electrician). More than 100 crafters and vendors, games for children, live music, and great food are all part of the 7th annual Voorhees High School Music Association Winter Festival on Saturday, November 19. Held indoors at Voorhees High School, the festival features more than 100 crafters and vendors offering everything from knitted items to soaps to jewelry to baked goods to fine crafted woods and dozens of other unique items. It's a great place to do some holiday shopping while supporting local small businesses. This year, Winter Festival will also include live performances from the hardworking vocal and instrumental music students at Voorhees High School! There will plenty to keep the kids busy, with carnival-style games, face-painting, sand art and prizes. The festival also will include a variety of foods available for lunching or snacking. The first 1000 adults to attend will get a free chance to win gift cards to local businesses! Proceeds from the festival benefit the Voorhees High School Music Association, which supports the school's talented teen musicians and vocalists by providing instruments, enrichment opportunities and scholarships for Voorhees students. The festival will be open 9:00 am – 3:00 pm and admission is free. Voorhees High School is located at 256 County Route 513 in Glen Gardner. For more information, visit www.vikesmusic.com. We hope to see you there!
