In a letter she received from President Obama, Linda was thanked for her service which "demonstrates the kind of commitment to [her] community that moves America a step closer to its great promise." The Corporation for National and Community Service gives the award to "celebrate the impact we can all make in bettering our communities and the world." Those who are given the award must have dedicated over 100 hours of volunteer services to one or more of the registered organizations. This award is bestowed only upon those whose dedication to bettering their communities truly makes a difference. Ms. Bryant, being one of the honorees, has given OVER 100 hours, over the course of twelve months, to the United Way of Hunterdon County. She has helped spearhead an employee campaign at Hunterdon Healthcare which has raised over $1,000,000 total for the United Way in the past 23 years. In addition to her devotion to the United Way of Hunterdon County, Ms. Bryant has been a dedicated employee at Hunterdon Medical Center for over 40 years. Volunteer service is one of the most important components to a community's success, and it is people like Linda Bryant who help the community thrive. Bonnie Duncan, CEO of United Way of Hunterdon, explained, "Linda is a fabulous volunteer. She's been with me since I started United Way, helping me with the HMC campaign and beyond. She is someone I can always reach out to especially when I, or someone who has reached out to me, need some help, guidance, referral, information on how to navigate services, or just a shoulder to lean on."
