Word of the Month: Generosity Students at PMG are enriched with assembly programs throughout the year, thanks to the generosity of our PTA! In December, students in both grades were treated to an interactive learning experience provided by the Franklin Institute. Students in second grade learned more about "Motion and Machines." The instructor used rubber balls, bricks, and wooden blocks to introduce Newton's Laws of Motion. Then, students witnessed these laws in action in a lever, pulley and student-driven hover car. Third graders expanded their learning by watching "Sound, Music and Math." The show taught students about vibration, waves, pitch and ratios. Students also participated in an all-school morning meeting led by Music Teacher, Erin Repsher. Students and staff gathered together in the gym and, after reciting the Pledge of Allegiance and greeting each other, everyone joined together to sing festive winter songs. Parents joined us to help with our Winter Celebrations! Students dressed in their pajamas and participated in games and making a craft – a great time was had by all! PMGS continued... For the 29th year, families generously donated gifts for children in Camden! This year we collected playground balls and board games. A bus full of these items and items collected from the other three schools were delivered to the students in a Camden elementary school. Teachers nominated students for December's Word of the Month Friendship Award. The selected s t u d e n t s d e m o n s t r a t e d generosity and were recognized with a certificate. RdVScho It wouldn't be December in the Clinton Township School District without our established partnership with the Camden School we visit each year! It's hard to believe that this is the 29th year that students have collected games, balls, mittens, hats, and coloring books. School Council students collected 'Bucks for Books' during lunch periods to ensure that each Camden student also got his or her own picture book. Kudos to all for their incredible generosity, it was greatly appreciated by students in Camden! Each month Round Valley School celebrates a Word of the Month. The school year began with: Responsibility, Respect, Compassion, Generosity, and January's Word of the Month is Perseverance. Every morning a student or staff member reads an inspirational message that encourages us all to put these words into actions. 6th Grade students constructed model ecosystems from 2-liter soda bottles to explore how organisms in an ecosystem are connected to one another, examine how abiotic and biotic factors influence plant and animal growth and discover how important biodiversity is to the environment. Fun was had by all! Mark your calendars for our upcoming Choral Concert that will take place January 14 at Clinton Township Middle School beginning at 7:00 pm! We hope to see you there! tonTohipMiddSchool Spike for a Cure: The CTMS & RVS Students vs. Teachers Volleyball Tournament to benefit the Juvenile Diabetes Research Foundation was held on Wednesday, November 18 from 3:00-5:00PM. It was a HUGE success! We raised over $1,200 to benefit the Juvenile Diabetes Research Foundation. Eighth grade students Zoe Walz, Chloe Gonzalez and Gianna Sicola in conjunction with Ms. Cormican, our CTMS enrichment teacher, organized this service project. The generosity of our community was amazing, and we thank you all for your support! The Annual Hunterdon County Enrichment Consortium Debate Competition was held on Friday, November 20. We hosted five visiting schools from Hunterdon County. The debates were spirited, there was some amazing talent and our CTMS students did very well! Way to go, Debate Team! The students and teachers in the CTMS Book Clubs meet during lunch and Explorations to share their love of books.
