But experts now claim that a touch can do more than comfort – touch can heal! Our skin is the largest organ of our body and is very responsive and sensitive. Even a gentle touch releases the hormone "oxytocin" – the feel-good hormone – which helps relieve stress, lessen anxiety, depression and creates a sense of happiness and well-being. Benefits of Physical Touch: • Improves Mood: Platonic touch has been proven to release oxytocin in the brain, the feel good hormone, and studies show the giving or receiving of affection in ways such as hugging, cuddling, holding hands, etc. can help us feel better, relieve physical pain, reduce anxiety and instill a sense of calm. • Lowers Blood Pressure: The feel-good hormone released during physical touch has been proven, over time, to lower blood pressure and reduce the risk of heart disease. • Reduces Stress: By having daily physical contact with someone, you can decrease stress, increase relaxation and improve sleep. • Improves Self-Esteem: Individuals who are touch deprived are usually less satisfied in their lives and relationships and may suffer from reduced self-esteem. • Improves Sense of Well-Being: Touch deprivation can leave a person feeling disconnected and lonely from people, and rom society in general. By engaging in regular physical contact with others, one can significantly increase an overall sense of well-being. Human beings thrive on contact – physically and mentally. In Your Arms -Alternative Touch/Cuddle Therapy specializes in professional cuddling to help individuals find relief from every day stress, anxiety and even the loneliness induced by our virtual world with platonic physical interaction – cuddling, holding hands, conversing or any combination therein, all in a safe, warm and confidential environment. C l i n t o n t o w n s h i P s e w e r a g e a u t h o r i t y CTSA was established in 1975 as an independent authority. As our community has continued to expand, CTSA has been able to meet the needs that follow such growth. We have been able to do this because CTSA has been a careful steward of the rate payer's money. Quality Sewer Service What does CTSA do? • CTSA provides wastewater conveyance of approximately 300,000 gallons/day from the households and rate payers to the Town of Clinton Wastewater Treatment Plant. • CTSA is operated by State of New Jersey C-2 certified licensed operator who meets continuing education and safety training requirements. • CTSA is a twenty-four hour a day, seven day a week operation. CTSA has consistently achieved compliance with all NJDEP environmental regulations. • CTSA is an independent authority and not governed by the municipality we service. Information about CTSA: • The CTSA office is located at 79 Beaver Avenue. • CTSA maintains approximately 21 miles of gravity sewer lines ranging in size from 4" to 12" throughout the Township along with 5 miles of force main. • CTSA sewer mains transported an average of approximately 300,000 gallons per day of flow to the Town of Clinton. • The CTSA practices preventative maintenance and conducts internal inspections of its sewers on a rotating basis. This work has assisted the Authority with finding and correcting problems early and at a much lower rehabilitation cost. • CTSA operates and maintains 16 pump stations in Clinton Township. • Our collection system is primarily constructed of ACP and PVC pipe. Where do your sewer payments go? • CTSA uses 100% of sewer payments and connection fees to operate and maintain the collection system, and to pay sewage treatment costs to the Town of Clinton. The Clinton Township Sewerage Authority would like to implement emailing the quarterly sewer bills to our customers in the future. If you would like to submit your email address, please do so at: ctsa@embarqmail.com. You will be notified prior to the start of this service.
