The Certification Program aligns with existing college curriculum particularly concentrations such as Professional Studies, Dance, Equestrian, Exercise Science and Physical Therapy programs, empowering students to be job-ready upon graduation with not only their college degree, but also a complementary Certification in Pilates Instruction. The DualStar Pilates methodology combines the essential principles of Joseph Pilates' method of body conditioning with current advances in exercise and medical knowledge to provide the most innovative Pilates Instructor Certification Program available. The program is exclusive to colleges and universities and provides mastery of the standard Pilates equipment (the Mat, Reformer, Cadillac Tower and Chair, as well as the innovative Exero™ System), while familiarizing students with basic human anatomy, enabling them to design safe, effective workouts based on a client's individual needs. It prepares students to run a Pilates studio, with training in business and marketing practices and is presented in a flexible modular format. For more information about the program, please visit their website at: www.dualstarpilates.com. © 2015 DualStar™ Pilates, LLC. Conference to Focus on NJ Life During the American Revolution Expanding Clinton's Celebration on May 30 for History Buffs What was daily life like in New Jersey during the American Revolution? How would your life have been impacted? These are among the questions raised by The American Revolution on the Home Front, a conference organized by the New Jersey Historical Commission and The 1759 Vought House, A Revolutionary War Loyalist Homestead, at the Clinton Township Middle School at 34 Grayrock Road on May 30. All of Clinton will be celebrating history during this day! The Town of Clinton will be celebrating 150 years with a day-long Block Party; come spend part of the day learning about Clinton area life during Revolutionary times 240 years ago and celebrating the April 2015 publication of The American Revolution in New Jersey: Where the Battlefront Meets the Home Front, by Rutgers University Press. The $30 book will be available at the conference for $15. The American Revolution on the Home Front conference will cost $20 ($15 for Vought House members) and starts at 8:45 am with coffee and bagels. The key- note talk will be given at 9:30 by historian James Gigantino (editor of the book) and followed by two concurrent panels of three panelists each, lunch—donated by ShopRite of Clinton—book sales and signing, then an afternoon panel with two panelists, followed by interpretive tours of the Vought House. The Vought House, adjacent to the Middle School, was an infamous local 1770s Revolution participant, thanks to the British loyalist convictions (shared by one-third to one-half of New Jersey residents) of its then-owners, Christopher Vought and his son John. Tours will be given by architect and preservation expert Michael J. Margulies, AIA. Panelists will include Gregory Walsh, Eleanor McConnell, Robert Selig, Michael Adelberg, Bruce Bendler, Donald Sherblom, William Kidder and Todd Braisted. They will each cover different aspects of the Revolutionary experience and its impact on local New Jersey residents. For further details and online registration, please visit: www.1759voughthouse.org. Funding of the conference was made possible in part by the Hunterdon County Board of Chosen Freeholders, through funds administered by the Hunterdon County Cultural & Heritage Commission. Funding has also been provided by Preservation New Jersey, State-wide advocates for preservation, and by The Crossroads of the American Revolution, NJA, connecting the people and places of New Jersey's rich Revolutionary heritage to inspire community pride, stewardship and civic engagement. "I almost wish we were butterflies and liv'd but three summer days - three such days with you I could fill with more delight than fifty common years could ever contain." ~ John Keats, Bright Star: Love Letters and Poems of John Keats to Fanny Brawne
