Fitness is a habit that is inclusive of committing to exercise and eating well. There isn't any one exercise routine or eating plan that is fit for everyone. Through the decades many have started exercise programs swearing that they would commit to fitness and health while on their journey to succeed. Statistics proved that many were not as successful as planned. Reasons behind the failing were due to the lack of knowledge and/or asking the right questions before starting any exercise program. I have chosen five questions that seem to be the beginning phase of starting a fitness program and can be utilized by all fitness enthusiasts of any age group. So when you decide to "commit to be fit," ask yourself the following questions and write down your answers. Your personalized answers will help find your path while on your journey to fitness commitment. 1) What are your goals? Can you visualize your goals? • Being able to visualize your goals will more than likely help you reach your goals. 2) Are you ready to make the commitment? • Healthy lifestyle changes occur when one is ready to commit to a fitness routine. 3) What time of day do you have your highest energy level? • Studies have shown that exercising when you're at your optimum energy level helps you to stay committed to your exercise routine. 4) Are you self-motivated or do you need encouragement? • If you are a self-motivator, then finding the right routine and time is not a problem for you... Keep up the GREAT work! • If you're not self-motivated, try the buddy system, find a group fitness class that peaks your interest, or connect with a Personal Trainer to encourage you to meet. 5) Do you have a Support System? • Studies have shown that individuals with positive support from family members and friends help keep the commitment to positive lifestyle changes. The Hunterdon County Board of Elections (located on the 3rd floor in the Historic Court House, 71 Main Street, Flemington) will be open until 9pm the evening of October 14 for registration. • In New Jersey, any voter can now vote by mail in any election. You do not need a reason to vote by mail. Don't feel like going to the polls? Simply vote by mail or apply in person at the Clerk's office. Now there is no excuse not to vote! • Mail-in Ballot applications are available from the County Clerk. In order to receive your ballot by mail, the application MUST be received in the County Clerk's office by Tuesday, October 28, 2014. You're also welcome to apply in person for a ballot up until 3:00 pm on Monday, November 2. In addition to our normal 8:30 am-4:30 pm hours, the office will remain open Tuesday, October 14 until 9:00 pm , 7:00 pm on Thursday, October 30 and the following Saturdays from 9:00 am-1:00 pm: October 4, October 18 and November 1 to accept walk-in applications. • Passport staff will also be available during the expanded hours to assist and process passport applications. Photos may be taken on-site and no appointment is necessary. • Under the law, if a voter requests and receives a mail-in ballot, but does not return or deliver the ballot to the County Board of Elections, he or she can vote by provisional ballot at their polling place. • The Ballot includes choices for US Senate, House of Representatives, County and Local offices along with the Annual School Election. There will also be two State Questions for your consideration. • Please visit the website for information for Military and Overseas Voters. Ralph Waldo Emerson said: "Those who stay away from the election think that one vote will do no good. Tis but one step more to think one vote will do no harm." Voting is both a privilege and a responsibility. Remember, every vote counts.
