Building on the success of the troop playing at Clinton's Flag Day Parade and Lebanon's Independence Day parade, Troop 121 is growing but is in need of gently used marching percussion instruments. Specifically, the troop is looking for march- ing bass drums, snare drums, tri-toms, cymbals and glockenspiels (bells). More Scouts are looking to join the band but the troop lacks these important percussion instruments. If you have or know of someone who has marching percussion instruments and would be willing to donate them to the Scouts, please contact Troop 121 Assistant Scoutmaster Mark Dau on 908-619-6289 or at mark.j.dau@comcast. net. For more information or to join Troop 121, go to http://clinton121. mytroop.us/. Celebrating over 75 years as a troop, Boy Scout Troop 121 is the oldest Boy Scout troop in the Clinton area. As part of the Pahaquarra district, Central New Jersey Council, the troop is made up of Boy Scouts, adult leaders and parents from the Clinton, New Jersey, area. Any boy interested in Scouting can join the troop. The charter organization for Troop 121 is the Clinton Presbyterian Church, located at 91 Center Street. The troop is boy-led, with the troop com- mittee run entirely by unpaid volunteers who are dedicated to the values of Scouting and who work to instill in the boys new skills, good citizenship and adherence to the values of Scouting as outlined by the Boy Scouts of America. i t ' S t i M e f o r t h e C l i n t o n e l k S l o D g e 2 4 3 4 a n n u a l t w o - D ay M u S i C f e S t i va l ! Clinton Elks Lodge 2434 is holding its annual two-day music festival from 2:00 to 9:00 pm on Saturday, June 14 and 2:00 to 8:00 pm on Sunday, June 15 at the lodge on Sidney Road in Pittstown. This event raises money for special-needs children and Elks Camp Moore "Mira- cle on the Mountain," a camp paid for by the New Jersey Elks Lodges, sponsoring children from their district to spend a week at camp. At Camp Moore, each child gets a one-on-one counselor for the week who has special training in his or her disability. The counselors come from all over the world and spend their summers at the camp. The kids enjoy the arts and crafts room, nature and game rooms, outdoor pool, picnics and many more activities. The money raised from the music festival allows the Clinton Elks Lodge to send more children to Elks Camp Moore and also helps support children at Somerset Treatment Center with medical needs that insurance may not cover. It also makes it possible for the lodge to purchase medical equipment for special needs children in the area, including wheelchairs, wheelchair ramps and various other items. The music festival is a family event with plenty of room for kids to play, 10 bands donating their time and talent, a picnic pavilion with a stage, a Tiki Bar and an outside kitchen where food will be served. This is a rain or shine event $10 per person but, as always, children under 12 are free.
