The application deadline will be February 14, 2014 for all applicants. All 2013 Summer Rec employees have already received an invitation to reapply and a questionnaire via USPS mail. Visit our website for 2014 employment details. 2014 SUMMER REC FOR CAMPERS ART PROGRAMS FOR ADULTS with Kimberly W. Cheifer, a classically trained fine artist, provides art classes for adults and kids. Kimberly enjoys inspiring students to find healthy selfexpression through art in order to help them build confidence and self esteem while learning and developing art skills. Each Series will provide a basic understanding of art elements and color theory which will be learned through demonstrations, famous artist examples and practice. Kimberly will give group and individual guidance to help students find satisfaction with their art process and final work. These are beginner's level classes for those with little or no experience. All materials are included. All classes will be held on Wednesday evenings Time: 7:00 pm - 8:30 pm Location: Clinton Twp. Middle School, Art Room # 167 WINTER ART JOURNEY (WINTER 1) Dates: Wed 1/15, 1/22, 1/29, 2/5, 2/12 Students will be introduced to fundamental approaches to drawing winter landscapes using pencil, pastel and charcoal. A simplified technique for learning perspective will assist students to create depth of field in their artwork. STILL LIFE ART JOURNEY (WINTER 2) Dates: Wed 2/26, 3/5, 3/12, 3/19, 3/26 This series introduces students to basic approaches to observational drawing of still life. Objects of different materials and textures like fabric, glass, wood and metal will provide opportunities to explore basic techniques in shading, design and composition using pencil, pastel and charcoal. 5 Week Fee: $65 resident and $75 non-resident CT REC KARATE (MATSUBAYASHI RYU) Classes are taught by Sensei Steve Will, a fifth degree black belt in Matsubayashi Ryu Karate-Do, who is in his 17th year teaching for Clinton Township. Each week using the circus as our theme we will draw and create some fantastic pieces of art. Clowns, clay seals, wire sculpture and more will all be part of the fun… draw on different surfaces, blend with pastels and create your own circus fun house, it's going to be a festival of fun!
