When school boards are able to empower the superintendent and staff, while working in the best interest of all students, the results lead to positive district growth. Being a great Board of Education is not easy. The Clinton T o w n s h i p S c h o o l B o a r d c o n s i s t s o f n i n e e l e c t e d v o l u n t e e r s . T h e y often work full time and are raising families. Just serving on the board is a tremendous commitment of time, which is why it is noteworthy that the Clinton Township Board of Education has been recognized by New Jersey School Boards as a Carole E. Larsen Certified Board of Education. The certification means that the Board of Education has committed itself to acting ethically and working together for the CTSD school community. This involves the group committing themselves to professional learning, and meeting all board member requirements. The last time the CTSD Board received such an honor was around 25 years ago. In addition, Board of Education President Lana Brennan and Board of Education Vice President, Dr. Catherine Riihimaki have been recognized as Master Board Members. As we go into the 2025-2026 school year where we will continue to do great things for students, it is important to recognize that the foundation of any good school district is a small group of committed individuals who put aside politics, understand how a BOE works, and give selflessly to public education. – Sincerely, Dr. Melissa Stager, Ed.D Superintendent, CTSD A MESSAGE FROM DR.
