The properties constituting the Museums are intended to be utilized as educational living history experiences for the community; to provide an appropriate setting for interpreting and preserving collections of artifacts relating to the history of the Township; and to offer an historic venue for a broad range of activities for Readington residents, such as educational programs, community cultural events and meetings of groups interested in local history. The Readington Township Museum Committee was established by resolution of the Readington Township Committee to oversee, manage and direct the development and utilization of the buildings and properties associated with the Bouman-Stickney Farmstead, the Eversole-Hall House, the Cold Brook School, Taylors Mill and future acquisitions of historic significance, collectively referred to as 'the Museums'. The Committee is responsible for all aspects of the administration of the Museums and their appurtenances, including: establishing policies that govern use and operation; planning, approving and coordinating programs; establishing budgets and managing finances; determining long range plans; directing the operation and maintenance of museum properties. Participants of this 6-week program saw improved strength, increased self-confidence, better balance, and lower stress and anxiety! Based on their established Horses for Healing program for people living with Cancer, Mane Stream realigned the program for the local Parkinson's community with great success. High marks were given as one participant stated, "I participated in Mane Stream's six-week Parkinson's riding program and I cannot thank you enough! Managing Parkinson's on a daily basis is tremendously challenging both emotionally and physically. When we are diagnosed, we are told to 'live life' as fully as possible for as long as we are able. Your program is the kind of gem that I have been seeking. The respectfully supportive environment created by Kelly and the volunteers was perfectly challenging, uplifting and immensely joyful! I am very excited to continue riding in the Fall. It's truly the highlight of my year." This Fall Mane Stream is excited to conduct another session of FREE Horses for Healing for those living with Cancer and Parkinson's Disease, starting Monday, October 13. Over the six-week program, participants will find new ways to deal with difficult and stressful health challenges through bonding with the horses and learning a new skill in a supportive environment. H4H combines groundwork, riding lessons and horse care as it creates community among the participants. Weekly activities are tailored to each person's capabilities based on how they are feeling that day. Participants may spend all their time grooming and bonding with a horse or move on to more physical activities. Paperwork deadline for the Fall Session is due by September 29. Survey results show participants of Horses for Healing 6-week program saw improved strength, increased self-confidence, better balance, and lower stress and anxiety! "Don't think. Thinking is the enemy of creativity. It's self- conscious, and anything self-conscious is lousy. You can't try to do things. You simply must do things." ~ Ray Bradbury "Creativity is just connecting things. When you ask creative people how they did something, they feel a lile guilty because they didn't really do it, they just saw something." ~ Steve Jobs
