Hi Julie – JUST GOT MY COPY (of the March 2025
issue)... and I absolutely love the cover! The liturgical
borders are especially poignant as we all wait for Pope Francis
to heal. But the flowers and the dark background are stunning. I
LOVE paintings with dark backgrounds. (Big fan of Carravagio).
Great job, Julie, and Happy St. Patrick's Day to you and your
darlings. And thank you as always for the coverage you
give WF. We are having a very good season. – Evelyn
Good morning Evelyn,
THANK YOU!! The borders are actually
Celtic crosses, and in the main design is a
Celtic knot as well, that looks like this (on
the right). I love the hearts in it.
I also really love paintings with black in the
background. Caravaggio, the Dutch flower paintings
of the 15th and 16th century, so many masterpieces,
and my mother's dress from Germany (my birthplace),
black with embroidered flowers — probably one of my
earliest memories, design-wise, at least.
I'm sending prayers and thinking good thoughts for
the Pope right now, and I also hope that you and your
family have a wonderful St. Patrick's Day, too. I'm so glad that CTNL
continues to help the WF! Take care, Julie
