3 a p r i l 2 0 2 5 Happy Passover! CarolBeder ' s from It happened again! Last week I received the following email, "Hello, my name is Elassia, and I am the marketing and advertising manager at La Mia Lebanese Cuisine, located in Clinton Township. We are located ½ mile South of Hall Road on the east side of Gratiot. I wanted to get information to buy a section in the newsletter to place an ad, if possible. This is our website: www. LamiaClinton.com." I didn't recognize the roads, but then again I don't know everything, so I sent her our advertising information and then looked up their website. Looks like delicious food! Each offering made me hungrier than the previous. I grew up in Jacksonville, Florida which, as of a couple of years ago, had the largest Syrian population in the country, going back several generations. We grew up with delicious Syrian/Lebanese food. We even had a lunch place, started in the 1950s, and owned by a Syrian family, which offered something called a Veggie-Rider, which was fresh tabouli in a warm pita... with melted American cheese. Mentioning this Americanized mashup to my Syrian friends in New Jersey makes them wince a bit, but we loved it! (Try it!) So I was excited when hearing about this restaurant until I discovered that it's actually in Clinton Township... MICHIGAN. It's always flattering when businesses from our namesake city in Michigan decide that CTNL might be a great place to advertise their business. I googled it and it looks like it would take 9 hours and 25 minutes to drive from our lovely town of Clinton Township, NJ to get to Clinton Township, MI – which I'm sure is charming, as well. Because of geography, I don't think we'd be of much help to the businesses of Michigan, unfortunately – but we are dedicated to helping all of our wonderful advertisers you see in these pages! Speaking of which, as always, I am very grateful to our local advertisers. They keep this publication in print – and have since 1982. Since they support us, please support them. We are also grateful to OUR Clinton Township Municipal and our CT School District for regularly sending us information to keep you informed. Thank you also to the many non-profits who list their events and information in these pages – we hope we're helping to make them successful! And last but certainly not least, we are so grateful to you – our readers – who let us know that you read and love CTNL, and that we should keep it going. And please, if you're ever in Clinton Township, Michigan, do stop in at the La Mia restaurant and tell them that CTNL sent you! In the meantime, we hope you and your families have a wonderful Easter and Passover! –Julie Flynn DAYS TO KEEP IN MIND Tuesday April 1 APRIL FOOLS DAY!
