The State of New Jersey's Department of Education facilitates the
Governor's Educator of the Year (GEOY) program so that schools
across the state can celebrate their teachers and education support
professionals. Nominations are over the course of a month and
they can be from a colleague, administrator, parent or student.
Nomination forms are on the website and come out in our regular
building and district newsletters. In order to select these worthy
educators each school creates a committee that includes the previous
year's recipients. We then have the exciting responsibility of notifying
the awardees during the school day. The best part is when we are
able to present the award while students are in class. The pride on
their faces and the joy they express makes it even more special for
the awardee. Each certificated staff member can also apply to be
the County Educator of the Year which will put them in the running
for the State Educator of the Year. All recipients are honored at a
New Jersey Department of Education led luncheon in the Spring.
We have so many great and worthy employees at CTSD. It is always
a pleasure when we can acknowledge those who make an impact in
the lives of children. We are so proud of our Governor's Educators
and our entire staff of excellent educators who continue to inspire,
support, and engage our children and their families!
– Sincerely, Dr. Melissa Stager, Ed.D Superintendent, CTSD
to our
Governor's Educators of the Year!
And the winners are...
