Round Valley School RVS Science: Many classes within RVS are piloting OpenSciEd units. In fifth grade science, students are designing filters to remove unhealthy contaminants from water samples. Through research, they identified properties that impact water health for different uses and users. The class established success criteria and constraints to guide their engineering design process. Students are working in g r o u p s t o b r a i n s t o r m a n d d e s i g n u n i q u e f i l t e r prototypes. They will create investigative plans tailored to testing how well their filters improve the health of specific water samples. B e f o r e c o n s t r u c t i n g t h e designs, students will share proposed filter plans with peers working on the same samples. This will allow them to gather feedback and refine their approaches. Clinton Township Middle School Congratulations to our two winning Law Adventure teams for the 2024 competition!! Law Adventure is a mock trial competition that is sponsored by the New Jersey State Bar Foundation, and is part of the CTMS Enrichment program. Students learn about courtroom law and write an original case brief for the contest. Our 8th graders won first place for all the 8th grades in the State of New Jersey for their environmental case. One of our 7th grade groups also won first place for all the 7th grades in the State of New Jersey, with a film script plagiarism case. Now the students will begin meeting again, and turn their case into a scripted mock trial. We will go on a trip to the New Jersey Bar Foundation and perform our cases in front of a judge and jury.
