I N O U R S C H O O L S : Dear Clinton Township Community Members, Clinton Township School District is excited to announce that we are working towards New Jersey's Sustainable Schools Certification. We have established a district-wide Green Team that will complete actions that move us towards either a Bronze or Silver certification. Each building will establish its own action plan towards reaching this goal. Round Valley School, which serves our 3rd, 4th and 5th graders, led the charge by holding a Waste Audit. The audit measured how much food gets thrown away during a lunch period. Students sorted the garbage, and then weighed the total amount of waste. With this action alone we saved six large trash bags from going into a landfill! Caroline Mann, who is also the district coordinator, worked with the Round Valley Green Team to start a Waste Warriors club. The student club will help the school move towards more sustainable practices. The Municipality of Clinton Township has already achieved Bronze status. We plan on completing actions to have at least one of our schools earn the Bronze award by June of 2025. You can check out the pictures of the kick-off event in the Round Valley information on the next page. Also stay tuned for additional great events occurring in The Clinton Township School District: • PTA and CTEA Science Night is April 9 • The TREPS Entrepreneurship Fair is on April 24 – Sincerely, Dr. Melissa Stager, Ed.D, Superintendent, CTSD EVERY STUDENT INSPIRED, EVERY TEAM MEMBER SUPPORTED, AND EVERY FAMILY ENGAGED.
