CA R D B OA R D B U I L D - YO U R - OW N B OAT R AC E J U LY 1 5 Have some wacky fun with just some cardboard and duck tape! Clinton Sunrise Rotary will sponsor a Build Your Own Cardboard Boat Race on the Raritan River in Clinton on the west side of the Halstead Street Bridge. Boat check-in is at 12:30 pm and the race will start at 2:00 pm from the Halstead Street site. Build your boat and bring it with you. Life jacket and paddle for each person racing will be provided. Need cardboard to build your boat? A limited supply will be available for pick-up on Saturday, 7/1, 10am, at the Halstead Street bridge site (first- come, first-served). Rules and regulations for the race and for all safety precautions will be posted on the Clinton Sunrise Rotary website in the near future. Prizes will be awarded in various categories. All proceeds go to the charitable works of the Clinton Sunrise Rotary in your community! Clinton Sunrise Rotary will sponsor the GREAT HUNTERDON RUBBER DUCKY RACE, to benefit The American Cancer Society and Crossroads4Hope. The race will be held on the South branch of the Raritan River in Clinton on Sunday, July 16 at 2:00 pm. And, the last duck over the finish line is far from a loser!! The last duck over the finish line wins its sponsor a $100 gift certificate sponsored by Gansfuss Insurance Agency and the Last Ducky Trophy. The first duck to cross the finish wins the first place prize $1000 travel voucher from Mary Beth Sullivan-Cruise Planners World Traveler Vacations; second place prize is a $500 travel voucher from Mary Beth Sullivan-Cruise Planners World Traveler Vacations and third place prize is an amazing gift basket from the Clinton Guild ($450 value); fourth place prize is an 8x10" print of The Old Mill from Alchemist Art & Framing; fifth and sixth place prizes are $50 gift certificates from Nourish to Heal in Clinton; seventh and eighth place prizes are $50 gift cards from the Stone Bean at Riverside Coffee & Tea in Clinton. All proceeds support cancer research, advocacy, and provide public education for cancer control. Free programs of support for those affected by cancer are offered through Crossroads4Hope.
