Join with members of the Church of the Holy Spirit (CHS) for our Annual Day of Service on Friday, April 7 in Lebanon at 3 Haytown Road from 8:30 am to 6:00 pm (detailed schedule below). The Annual Day of Service is a new take on Good Friday, which is normally associated with more inward-directed acts such as fasting and prayer. Yet the Bible tells us that it is also appropriate to "fast" by doing good – starting in our own community – whether it be sharing food with the hungry, providing shelter and clothes for the homeless and deprived, or extending a hand to a stranger in need. Participants in the Day of Service g o o u t i n t o t h e c o m m u n i t y t o complete specific projects – such as assisting seniors with spring yard clean-up or fix-it projects; making improvements or repairs at county half-way houses; preparing special desserts for Meals on Wheels; or sewing cheerful pillow cases for the Children's Hospital. At CHS we look forward all year to the Good Friday Day of Service – a multi- generational event bringing together all ages, from elementary school children, teens, singles, and couples to great grandparents. Join us to experience the happiness and peace that comes when we obey the commandment to "love your neighbors as yourself." Come make new friends while contributing to your community! We look forward to getting to know you, too! Participants can spend all or only part of the day. Day of Service Schedule: Please register at the CHS website: www.ChurchHolySpirit.org, or call CHS for more information: 908.236.6301.
