Whether you're buying or selling a home this winter, keep in mind
that a house with year-round curb appeal has added value – so
relatively inexpensive enhancements are well worth the time and
investment. For sellers, a few tweaks to your home's exterior can increase
interest and snag potential buyers. If you're in the market to buy, your future
home will benefit from these winter curb appeal tips:
Clear snow and ice – Open paths provide safe access to entrance ways and
give a clean-cut alpine aesthetic to your home. Remember to use salt to de-ice
your driveway, steps, and landings.
Add exterior lighting – A great way to enhance your home's curb appeal
at night is to use soffit or up-lighting to showcase its architectural features.
You can also use outdoor lights to accent shrubs, trees, or other landscaping
on your property.
Maintain your lawn – While your grass may no longer be growing, it's still
important to keep your yard tidy. If necessary, give your lawn a trim, use an
edger to define boundaries, and remove any fallen leaves, sticks, or other debris.
