Twas the Run Before Christmas and all round the town, the Santas were jogging...nowhere was a frown! Join us in this Clinton Holiday Tradition - the 5th annual "Run Before Christmas" SantaCon 8-K brought to you by some of the "locals" behind the Main Street Half Marathon of Hunterdon and the Red Mill! Please note, holiday (Santa) gear requested. Registration is now open and we're gearing up! Mark your calendar for December 17 at 8:00 am at the Red Mill Village Museum at 56 Main Street, Clinton, NJ 08809! Not sure what this is all about? It's a Santa (you dress up like him or one of his helpers) CONvention... and we do one-"K" (kilometer) for each of the original eight reindeer (don't get us wrong, we love Rudolph but for 70+ years people have been singing his praises). Event details and registration may be found at www.SantaConRun. com. Proceeds for this event benefit the Red Mill Museum Village, a federally recognized 501(c)3 not-for-profit! We hope to see you there! – With bells on, Papa Elf F i r S T a n n u a l ' l i n k S F o r l e x ' g o l F o u T i n g e x C e e d S g o a l The First Annual Links For Lex Golf Outing & Dinner was held at the Stanton Ridge Country Club in Whitehouse Station on Monday, October 17, 2022. The money raised for the Iron Girl Project scholarship fund far exceeded the projected goal of $15,000. Seventy four golfers enjoyed a beautiful fall day of golfing on the picturesque Stanton Ridge Par-71 championship golf course along with lunch, beverages, gifts, bar service, dinner and dessert. An additional 82 guests joined the golfers for cocktails, dinner, dessert and the raffle basket and silent auction which featured 24 gift baskets all valued between $100 and $400 and a dozen silent auction items ranging in value from $500 to $2,000. According to Danielle and Mike Karpinski, Alexea's parents and IGP founders, "We are so proud that so many people have chosen to support the Iron Girl Project. This is a testament that our community values coaches and athletes. Being a part of a team, a sport can truly influence a student athlete on and off the field. They learn about hard work, empathy, kindness and leadership. They will take this with them beyond their high school years." They continued, "Everything that the IGP stands for is based on our daughter's experience as a student athlete." All proceeds raised benefit the Iron Girl Project, Inc. (IGP) scholarship fund for graduating senior athletes who demonstrate true grit, understand the value of teamwork and exhibit leadership on and off the athletic field. With several IGP fundraising events scheduled throughout the year, the goal of the organization is to award multiple scholarships to student athletes across New Jersey. Scholarship amounts, timing and essay topics will be released via the Iron Girl Project website and social media in January 2023. The scholarships will expand and change each year based on event participation and funds raised. IGP would like to thank its volunteers who worked for months organizing this event and its major corporate sponsors: Stanton Ridge Country Club, Ciocca Car and Truck Country of Flemington, PS&S Engineering, Proforma, Healthquest Fitness, Diamond Nation, the Law Offices of Aaron R. Culton, Ogletree Deakins, Advanced Obstetrics & Gynecology, ProCare Rehabilitation and Flemington Pickleball. Iron Girl Project, Inc. was specifically created to honor the memory of Alexea "Lex" Karpinski, an aspiring two-sport D1 athlete and Honor Roll student in her junior year at Hunterdon Central Regional High School who passed away suddenly in November of 2020. It supports high school student athletes in their journey to create their own legacy, one which has a positive impact on their teammates, families and communities.
