It's a worldwide movement to touch hearts and change lives by doing the things Jesus did: feeding the hungry, comforting the lonely, visiting the sick and afflicted, and showing kindness to everyone. Jesus said, "Ye are the light of the world" (Matthew 5:14). #LightTheWorld is the perfect way to let our light—and His light—shine brightly. The Light The World Award in Morristown is given to someone/an organization who has exemplified this pattern. This year, Sheriff Gannon is being honored for his work with the Hope One project (www.HopeOneProject. org/) on December 4, from 6:00 - 7:00 pm at The Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints, 283 James Street in Morristown. All are welcome to come celebrate with us! Usually, we visit a vending machine to get something for ourselves, but #LightTheWorld Giving Machines are a way to give to someone else. Giving Machines make it easy to support global charities that provide those in need with items such as clothing, eyeglasses, medicine, hygiene supplies, wheelchairs, sporting equipment, and even livestock. In 2019, Giving Machines collected more than $3.9 million in donations. Items purchased included nearly 63,000 chickens, 1.6 million meals, 955,000 vaccines, more than 3,500 pairs of shoes, and more than 7,200 pairs of glasses. One hundred percent of the contribution goes to the charities represented at the Giving Machines, and the Church covers any credit card fees.
