Clinton Township residents, we need your assistance! Two
benches were stolen from our Open Space Property, Prostak
East which is located off of 629 and Stanton Mountain Road.
The benches were a bottle-cap recycling project by a local Girl
Scout troop for their Silver Award. The benches are grey with
an engraving of the girls names and troop number. If you have
any information on the whereabouts of these items please call:

ExxonMobil has asked to make a presentation to the community and
to the Mayor and Council for consideration of a zone change for a
portion of its property to allow a warehouse facility as a permitted
use. Warehousing as a principal use is not allowed on this property under the
current zoning ordinance. The ExxonMobil property comprises approximately
800 acres with frontage along both Route 31 and Route 22, and includes an
existing research and development facility.
Due to the large amount of developable acreage that remains on the
property, the variety of uses permitted in the property's current zone district,
and the potential impacts on traffic and prime farmland by development of the
site (whether by a currently approved use or some other use), upon receiving
and reviewing ExxonMobil's formal request at an upcoming meeting, the Mayor
and Council may feel that this matter is best addressed by the Planning Board
in a manner consistent with the process identified in the Municipal Land Use
Law (MLUL). That advertised meeting would properly allow for public review
and comment on any development proposal put forth by the property owner.
No action will be taken by the Mayor and Council at their meeting other than
the potential referral of the matter to the Planning Board.
In order to facilitate a conversation between the community and
ExxonMobil with regard to the future of this property, details for
all related meetings will be posted to the Township's website as they
become available.
"Thanksgiving is one of my favorite days
of the year because it reminds us to give thanks
and to count our blessings. Suddenly,
so many things become so lile when we realize
how blessed and lucky we are." ~ Joyce Girauds
