As Crime Stoppers gathered on a Thursday evening in early September for its annual fundraiser at Beaver Brook Golf Club, all 150+ guests were well aware of the challenges facing law enforcement and the public in general. Crime Stoppers had just helped solve the Frenchtown Pride Flag theft through an anonymous tip. And even while County Clerk Mary Melfi was being honored for her great achievements in the county, and three police officers were presented awards for their outstanding police work, all were thoughtful of the recent beating by motorcyclists of a man in Clinton Township. An award is being offered for the arrest and conviction of the individuals involved in that heinous crime. Even during an evening of celebration, fun and comaraderie, enjoying the country-western theme, "Round 'Em Up!", concern for citizens never stops. The funds raised during this annual recognition and awards event makes it possible to continue to pay anonymous tipsters with cash rewards. Hunterdon Prevention Resources, Northfield Bank, and Flemington Car & Truck Country are among the many sponsors who make it possible to continue to reward anonymous tipsters with cash rewards. Congratulations to Honoree Mary Melfi and the following awardees for their outstanding achievements: UNIT CITATION: Raritan Township Police Department - Investigative Division: Raritan Township Police Department Detective Sergeant Brian Sutherland Raritan Township Police Department Detective Corporal Margaret Hammond Raritan Township Police Department Detective Anthony Moreno Raritan Township Police Department Detective Adam Swiatek Hunterdon County Prosecutor's Office Detective Sergeant Jessica Neiber* *Note: Detective Sergeant Jessica Neiber will be receiving The Frank Fuzo Posthumous Award for Exceptional Performance - Crime Stoppers of the Year.
