1 5 m a y 2 0 2 2 Clinton Township Middle School NJSCA Announces 2022 "COUNSELOR OF THE COUNTY" AWARDS RECIPIENTS! On Thursday, March 17, the NJSCA honored school c o u n s e l o r s f r o m t h e different counties within the State of New Jersey at the annual "Counselor of the County" Awards Program. School counselors are nominated by their colleagues and are selected by their own county's School Counselor Associations for this award. The award honors the professionals who devote their careers to serving as advocates – and often lifesavers – for the nation's students. Kerry Mueller, a school counselor from Clinton Township Middle School, was selected as the 2022 Counselor of the County for Hunterdon County. Candidates are selected for the Counselor of the County Award at their county-level school counselor associations. They are selected because of their ability to deliver an effective school counseling program which focuses on academic development, career counseling, and personal/social support. They further distinguish themselves by proving to be leaders of systemic change, advocates for students, and collaborative professionals who seek the success of the "whole" student in school and in life. For more specific information on this association, visit: www.njsca.org. Don't Miss the CT PTA 2022 TRICKY TRAY FUNDRAISE! We hope to see you there! United States. All students in RVS Chorus will end the concert by singing Galop, by Ken Berg, a fun song performed entirely on Solfege! After a triumphant return to the stage for their winter concert, the 5th Grade Band and Orchestra have been working hard to prepare new and exciting music for our upcoming Spring Concert at the end of May. The 5th Grade Band has been preparing a weather themed concert with two pieces. The first is an original composition by composer Patrick Burns from nearby Bloomfield, NJ, entitled Zephyrus: God of the West Wind. We have also been working on a piece called Thunderstorms, which is written to evoke the feeling you get as a summer storm rolls through. Our 5th Grade Orchestra will be playing The Blue Danube Waltz, written by the "Waltz King", Johann Strauss. You also may think a fighter clad in black is sneaking through the auditorium as we perform Ninja. All of the pieces have pressed students to improve their individual level of performance, and ability to collaborate and perform as a group. We are excited to share them with you. We are also excited to have our first performance by both 4th Grade Band and Orchestra in early June. You won't believe how far we have come in just one year, from learning how to properly assemble and hold our instruments, to playing complex pieces together. The band will be playing a fanfare style piece called Rise to Power, and a fun song called Lamb Chop Rock, that combines Baa Baa Black Sheep, and Mary Had a Little Lamb in an interesting way. And the Orchestra will be playing a march style piece called Enter the Heroes, and a darker, more mysterious piece written in B minor, called The Grotto. We look forward to sharing our music with families who are able to join us at the concerts!
