This provides students with the opportunity to move, explore the building, and have fun unscrambling the word of the month with classmates. The letters for the word of the month are embedded on the different images and bulletin boards around the building. Students keep track of the letters on a worksheet, unscramble the word, and then discuss the word of the month. The whole school had fun contributing to the scavenger hunt in the month of March! Students added friendship coins and origami hearts to scavenger hunt bulletin boards that were featured during SEL day on March 11. Hello Clinton Township School Community, When my husband and I decided to buy our first house, the first thing we did after looking at access to employment was to look at the quality of the schools. As a parent and a lifelong educator, having great schools was incredibly important to me. A great public school not only benefits the community but also gives students a solid learning foundation that will benefit our society for decades after they graduate. So we, like many of the readers of this column, landed in Hunterdon County. Hunterdon County had that great mix of nature, caring individuals, access to two major cities, and of course fantastic public schools. Clinton Township School District is one of those great Hunterdon County schools. That is why I am so excited about the opportunity to lead this great district. As a school leader I know that the quality of schools has a direct impact on home values and the quality of life. That is why it is so important that we get to share with the community all the great things we are doing that bring value to our students and the community at large. In the next few months we will be revising our website and hope to use this Newsletter and other channels to share the great learning opportunities that our district offers. We cannot deny that these last two years have been very hard on communities, children, and a number of workers including our educational professionals. In less than a week in 2020 CTSD and other districts had to pivot to a completely different learning model. As students returned, educators contended with keeping students free from illness while maintaining academic standards. This was not easy, but under great leadership along with board and community support, CTSD navigated those shifts successfully. We are now ready for our new chapter and it is humbling to be a part of that. It is a time for new possibilities and a continued commitment by our community to support our students, staff, and schools and ensure that even more people choose Clinton Township due to its great schools and all it offers. We look forward to using this forum to share with the community tips on supporting students, educational information, district achievements, and how supporting our schools helps everyone. CTSD puts children first because we know that they are our future. – Sincerely, Dr. Melissa Stager A MESSAGE FROM DR. STAGER, CTSD SUPERINTENDENT: I N O U R S C H O O L S : The Clinton Township School District, in partnership with the community, achieves excellence for each child by ensuring a meaningful and challenging educational experience in a supportive environment; developing life-long learners who are responsible and productive citizens.
