The Country Garden Club has donated over
$10,500 to the Open Cupboard Food Pantry of
Clinton. The fundraiser was conceived to help those in
need during the Covid-19 crisis. Plastic pink flamingoes were
purchased and decorated with custom outfits and accessories
handcrafted by club members. The colorful and comical birds were
placed on the lawns of community members along with an envelope
asking for donations to the food pantry. Word of the flamingoes
spread quickly and soon they were in such high demand that the
original "flock" grew to six with over 150 birds! Baby flamingoes
were added so that children could decorate them and lend their
creations to the flock. The whimsical displays could be seen
