WFC would like to extend heartfelt appreciation to our school administrators for all of their hard work over the last few months, especially the last few weeks! We understand how much pressure has come along with the reopening of schools this year and all of the uncertainties. We know how difficult it is to please everyone while also keeping the students' safety as the #1 priority. Our school administrators are doing a great job! In response to the continuously evolving current events, WFC has created new program options to assist our community and our district personnel! These offerings include: • Our same, high-quality Before School, After School, & Pre-K/K Wrap Enrichment programs • NEW! Remote Learning Support Centers – When student cohorts are on virtual days, WFC supervises and assists students in their virtual learning sessions. • NEW! Programs for District Staff's Students – This program allows staff and teachers to work, while their children are supervised and supported during their base school's remote learning sessions. This program has provided relief and peace of mind for our district administrators and their staff, whose home districts have gone 100% virtual leaving teachers in a child-care bind. For more information on our programs or to register, visit: www.WorkFamily.org or email Christa Claytor at: cclaytor@ theworkfamilyconnection.org. h a p p y n e W y e a r ! F r O m N e x t S t e p C O l l e g e a d v i s i n g High School Juniors: Here is what you should have done by mid-December: • Take the PSAT. • Stay on track with your classes and grades. • Take a diagnostic ACT and use a specific PSAT/ACT comparison chart to help you decide/map out your testing plan for 2021. • Make a list of potential colleges you would like to attend. • Discuss careers, and also the majors which can lead you to those careers. • Gather college information: Attend virtual college fairs and speak to representatives from colleges (either online or through your school). • Begin planning campus visits (some are allowing in person visit, and some even have self guided drive-through maps and apps for you!) • Continue involvement in extracurricular and volunteer activities and seek leadership roles. • Continue building relationships with your teachers, as your 11th grade teachers are the ones from whom you will most likely request letters of recommendation. Winter is here, so if your son or daughter hasn't done all the above and/or if your family would simply like a college advising expert to guide you through the process, please call me. I can catch up your Junior if needed and I am taking clients from the class of 2022 until January 2021. Sophomores are welcome to jump on-board now and, I promise, you will be well ahead of your peers and confident with your decisions you make for your future! I work with the student holistically. Part expert, part cheerleader, I offer assistance and opinions from start to end. Sign up for a consult today.
