Tibentan monks have used metal singing bowls for centuries. Sandee uses quartz crystal which has many physical properties that help amplify, store, focus and transfer energy. The sounds from the bowls are calming and induce a sense of peacefulness. Come enjoy your last singing bowl experience with Sandee with this bittersweet farewell. This program fills quickly, so please register early. If you wish to lay on the floor, please bring a mat. F r a n k l i n T h e at r e W o r k s Franklin Theatre Works is a non-profit program open to the public inviting all children ages 8 through high school students in greater Hunterdon County areas including areas of Pennsylvania. Executive Director Maeve Pambianchi says that one of her goals is to help children develop an ease of performance both on and off the stage, improving personal skills, self-confidence and obtaining a deeper understanding of others. She explains, "I find a joy in watching children develop and expand. Begin with children if you want to make an impact on the world." Lowrey Chapter of the New Jersey Society Daughters of the American Revolution will hold their 18th Annual Flag Disposal Ceremony at the DAR Memorial Park Cemetery on Route 22 East in Whitehouse Station on Saturday, June 15. Whether your flag flies at your home or your place of business – if it's worn out, this flag disposal ceremony is the perfect place to bring it. Not only is the event moving, but the cemetery itself is moving as it is the final resting place of nine Revolutionary War Veterans. The event lasts about an hour and includes a brief flag retirement speech, Taps played by a bugler and the placement of flags upon a ceremonial fire by local fire officials. Lawn chairs welcome. Rain or shine. The Clinton Sunrise Rotary is pleased to announce the continuance of two Clinton traditions: the 24th Annual Rubber Ducky Race and the 33rd Annual Sprintin' Clinton, a 5K race and 1 mile fun run/walk. Both events are scheduled for Sunday, July 14. The race is run in the south branch of the Raritan River beginning near the Hunterdon Art Museum, over the falls, under the famed Clinton bridge and downstream a few hundred yards. The race start is at 2:00 pm. Individuals can sponsor a duck for $10 and have the opportunity to win one of several great prizes. First prize is a 4 day, 3 night Walt Disney World Package for two (includes air for 2, hotel, & Park Passes) or a trip of equivalent value. Proceeds from this event benefit the American Cancer Society and the Cancer Support Community CNJ. In the evening, Sprintin' Clinton again draws participants and spectators of all ages. The event begins with a one mile fun run and culminates with the traditional 5k race. Race pre-entry fees are $12 for the Fun Run and $25 for the 5K. Commercial sponsorships for these events are also available. There are various sponsorship levels ranging from $100 for a Water Sponsor to $2,500 for a 5K or Family Fun Run Sponsor.
