By the old guy with a ponytail at MGC "Most" broadleaf weeds that inhabit Hunterdon County lawns are peren- nial and will return in the spring if not treated. October is an excellent time to eliminate these broadleaf weeds in your lawn. Broadleaf weed control products appropriate for this time of year are systemic which means they are applied to the weed leaf and translocated to the roots. These products are most effective when applied above sixty degrees. Sys- temic broadleaf lawn weed control should be applied two to three weeks prior to overseeding or after newly seeded lawn areas have been mowed two or three times. Always read product labels for specific precautions. We hope to see you soon at one of our stores!
