Your support helps the Clean Plate keep their doors open and also provides our local health heroes with nourishing food. Making trips almost daily to the Hunterdon Medical Center, the Clean Plate Kitchen will also deliver your children's artwork to provide emotional support to our health heroes and community as they heal. By the time this CTNL issue went to print, the Clean Plate Kitchen had generously delivered well over a thousand meals during the COVID 19 crisis. The Director of Public Relations, Kathleen Seelig, and the Clinical Coordinator of the Center for Advanced Weight Loss, BJ Jacobson, are wearing different hats at Hunterdon Healthcare during this current climate. In the photo above, they took a pause in hanging the incredible artwork (produced by our local children in Hunterdon County) and graciously accepted 50 meals on April 11 for the Emergency Department doctors, nurses and staff. Thank you for your continued support in helping the Clean Plate Kitchen nourish our frontline healthcare team at Hunterdon Medical Center with Feel Good Food. If you know of a need anywhere in Hunterdon County and want to make a donation of food to them, the Clean Plate Kitchen will gladly provide a meal for every $10 that we receive to a local group in our community. To make a donation, visit: www.CleanPlateClinton.com/ gift-cards, use the attached gift card link and fill out "To:HMC" or call to discuss other groups who you feel could benefit from this service. Together we are stronger and will work together through this. Your help is making a difference. All of the tools we have for dealing with "normal" stress and anxiety can still be used during times of crisis; we may just need to keep them more in the forefront. Staying connected is one of the best things we can do during this time, so continue to reach out to loved ones using the many ways we have in today's world. Know we are in this together. Take control of the parts of your life that you can control. Schedule exercise sessions, plan menus and take time for entertainment. Consider modifying your definition of a "good day" to meet the current reality of the situation. This can help you stay optimistic and focus on the positive parts of life that continue all around. Give yourself a break and know that you may have bad times but that you can get through this. Now is a wonderful time to draw upon your spirituality, those who inspire you, or your personal beliefs and values. All of these can help you reduce your anxiety and feel hopeful that life will eventually return to normal.
