"We are thrilled that the owner of Tyvan Hill has graciously agreed to extend our stay at Tyvan Hill, which will enable us to present our Mansion in May 2020 "Splendor in September" fundraiser and deliver on our pledge to benefit the expansion of the Gagnon Cardiovascular Institute at Morristown Medical Center," said Patricia O'Connor, Co- Chair, Mansion in May 2020. Kathy Ross, Co-Chair, Mansion in May 2020 stated, "The number one concern has and continues to be the health and safety of the over 1,500 volunteers and our visitors who help make Mansion in May a success. Our delayed opening will enable our visitors to tour this magnificent country estate and have an opportunity to see the 'inspirations' of over 50 talented interior and landscape designers come to life in one lovely setting." Tyvan Hill, a 10,000 square foot U-shaped brick and stone house mansion, was designed by the prominent New York architectural firm of Peabody, Wilson & Brown for John Wesley Castles Jr. and his wife, Dorothea Bradford Smith, and built between 1928 and 1929. It features beautiful details, such as a curved staircase, paneling and elegant moldings, as well as an outdoor pool and pool house. In 1931, the Architectural League of New York awarded its silver medal to Peabody, Wilson & Brown for the firm's designs of a group of country residences, prominently including Tyvan Hill. Mansion in May is the preeminent designer showhouse in the New Jersey-New York area. "Splendor in September" at Tyvan Hill will be open to the public from September 8 to October 4, 2020. Advance tickets at $40 are available online now. Mansion in Ma DESIGNER SHOWHOUSE AND GARDENS 2020 In 1997 the New Jersey State Senate and General Assembly passed a series of laws that the governor approved. These laws establishing a venison donation program process, along with the Food Bank Good Samaritan act, helped pave the way for the Hunters Helping the Hungry Program. The United Bow Hunters of New Jersey (UBNJ) provided much needed support for the above measures. A year later a few hunters organized Hunters Helping the Hungry, Inc. HHH is a non-profit 501-(c)3 organization with the help of the State Federation of Sportsmen Clubs, and support from the New Jersey Division of Fish and Wildlife. HHH raises funds and coordinates efforts by butchers, hunters and food banks throughout NJ. We're always looking for ideas, partnerships and volunteers to help in many ways. Funds from HHH only pay for venison donated by hunters. HHH does not pay for any municipal depredation hunts or farmer depredation hunts. Many farmers and corporations do support HHH through generous donations or allowing hunters to hunt their property or requiring hunters who hunt their property to donate deer through this program.
