The Hunterdon County Happy Tappers is a "Senior Group" of Tap Dancers which was founded about 24 years ago and is still going strong! Fortunately, we are always adding new "Seniors" to our group and we always try to keep Tap Shoes for our new members to use. Unfortunately, we are running out of our Tap Shoe supply! If anyone has Tap Shoes that they are no longer using, would you please donate them to our group? You can drop them off at the main entrance to the Senior Center on Route 31 in Flemington, across the street from St. Paul's Church. We love to welcome new members and we appreciate any size Tap Shoes you can offer. Thank you from the bottom of our hearts! We're proud to say we have 32 members in our group. We even have Tappers that are in their 80's and 90's!!! We perform for Senior Centers, Nursing Homes and even the 4H Fair. Come to our upcoming Dance Showcase on Monday, April 29 at 1:00 at the Senior Center on Rt. 31 and Gaunt Place (next to St. Paul's Church) in Flemington. This exciting event has tap dancers, jive/jazz, line, and zumba dancers! All ages are welcome to enjoy the show! "50 MOVING FORWARD" J o u r n e y t o a H e a lt h i e r F u t u r e Frank F. The CDC suggests that adults 50 and older have a 70 percent chance of developing at least one chronic disease. The Y, one of the nation's leading nonprofits dedicated to improving the nation's health, has teamed up with Pfizer, with its health care expertise, to develop 50 MOVING FORWARD. This program goes beyond the basic tenets of healthy eating and physical activity and highlights the importance of helping prevent health problems before they arise through screenings and vaccinations, and the health benefits of staying socially active and connected. The HCYMCA is one of 25 across the country that offers specially designed 50 MOVING FORWARD weekly wellness events, classes and workshops. Both YMCA members and nonmembers are invited to join 50 MOVING FORWARD for free. A full calendar of events is available at www.hcymca.org.
