The Friends of Hunterdon County Library (FOHCL) are holding their annual used
Book Sale on Saturday, April 25 through April 27. This year marks the 24th Annual Book
Sale sponsored by volunteers of FOHCL who have organized this major fundraiser for the
purpose of supporting and enhancing the Hunterdon County Library System.
Financial support is given for programs such as Maker's Day, various lecture series,
Fred Miller concerts, Museum Pass Program, and summer outdoor concerts. Funding has
also been increased for the Library's ebook offerings as well as scholarships for students
entering college and book kits are purchased for patrons at all three library branches.
FOCHL also needs support through donations of books for the sale. Two
DROP OFF DRIVES are scheduled at the Hunterdon County Fair Grounds in Ringoes
on Saturdays April 11 and 18 from 9:00 am until 2:00 pm. Books may also be
dropped off at the North County Branch Library from Monday April 13 through
Wednesday April 15 during open hours. Drop-offs are limited to three bags or boxes.
Want to get involved? There are numerous volunteer opportunities, from setting
up tables to sorting books and DVDs, categorizing tables, and directing parking. Enjoy
creating spreadsheets? There is work for you to do, too! Volunteers may select a
schedule that will work best for them. Sign up for a few hours, a few days, or every day!
Help is needed from Tuesday April 7 through Tuesday, April 28. Volunteers opportunities
are available for both sites - Ringoes and North Branch Library in Clinton. Students are
welcome to participate if they are 13+ years old.
Libraries have become the new community centers for county citizens of
all ages. Children and youth are at the Libraries for numerous programs, students use it
after school and seniors use the library as a meeting place and to engage in the numerous
activities. FOHCL has supported many of these activities and initiatives in order to ensure
continued access and offerings.
