Millions of Americans experience daily, debilitating pain caused
by low back pain. It is shown that 40% of these people will also experience
sciatica during their lifetime. Sciatica is the term used to describe numbness,
tingling and pain that radiates from your lower back into your buttocks, hips
or down your leg. The cause of sciatica is typically pressure on the sciatic
nerve root in the low back. Chiropractors are uniquely positioned to treat
lower back pain and sciatica using a drug free approach to symptom relief
and healing called spinal adjustments. Spinal adjustments re-align the bones
(vertebrae) to help take pressure off of nerves. In some cases, Chiropractors
may recommend Spinal Decompression in conjunction with adjustments as a
safe, non-surgical way to relieve pressure on a compressed nerve root helping
to alleviate the problem and the pain.
