While it is important for emotional health to note the positive emotions you might feel when something good happens, emotional health doesn't mean you have to force only positive emotions. In fact, trying to pursue happiness all of the time may cause you to miss some emotions that give meaning to your life. The important skill to develop is the ability to feel whatever emotion you have, express it appropriately and then move on. Being optimistic can help in this final step, especially if the emotion you feel is particularly bad. Difficult feelings and situations may exist, but they aren't permanent and you can move on from them. It takes practice and work to improve emotional wellness, but the effect will help you deal with the stresses of life and have better mental and physical health. t h e i t a l i a n a m e R i C a n h e R i t a G e C l U b o F h U n t e R d o n C o U n t y The Italian American Heritage Club of Hunterdon County will be holding their next monthly dinner meeting on February 18 at the Mountainview Chalet at 6:45 pm.
